No, the Copyright Office does not require a copy of the work for registration. The Copyright Office does not accept copies of works submitted with copyright application forms at the time of filing, nor after registration. However, under the Library and Archives of Canada Act and the Legal Deposit of Publications Regulations, Canadian publishers are obliged to send copies of their publications to Library and Archives Canada within one week of the date they are published.
